MALOSSI H20 I-Tech cylinder set with Ø 63 mm

The H20 I-Tech cylinder set is designed for the Vespa GTS 125 I-GET Supertech from 2020. With a cylinder bore of Ø 63 mm, a stroke of 58.7 mm and a displacement of 183 cm³, it is designed as a big-bore component for competition use. The compression ratio is 11.48.

Cylinder and machining

The cylinder is made of a primary aluminum alloy with a high content of hardened and tempered silicon. Its liner has a silicon carbide coating in an electroplated nickel die. Cross smoothing is done in two diamond passes with very limited tolerances.

Machining is carried out on machine tools with high-precision numerical control. There is a clearance of 0.05 mm between the cylinder and piston. Newly calculated and improved heat exchange surfaces complement the design.

Pistons and piston rings

The ultra-compact, lightweight and reinforced piston has three rings. It is made from a special aluminum alloy with a high silicon content and low thermal expansion. The sliding surfaces are coated with tin; The piston is also machined on numerically controlled machine tools.
